Jambo, Amie, and welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for popping by with your question.
One of the most immersive resorts on Walt Disney World property,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to over 30 species of African wildlife, including zebras, gazelles, and giraffes. Just walking around the resort is such a unique experience that my family loves to visit even when we're staying somewhere else! Of course, the animals aren't the only draw at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Over the years, my family has gobbled up delicious meals at
Jiko - The Cooking Place,
Boma - Flavors of Africa, and
Sanaa (don't forget the bread service!). So I
completely understand why you'd want to stop by for a meal.
Amie, I'm happy to share that you can indeed
park your car in the Animal Kingdom Lodge parking lot, as long as you have a confirmed
Advance Dining Reservation at one of the resort's restaurants. When you arrive, be sure to have your
My Disney Experience app handy so you can show your reservation confirmation to the Disney Cast Member at the gate. You'll receive a temporary parking pass that should allow you to park there for a few hours.
Now, I could hang out for
hours at Animal Kingdom Lodge, just animal-watching on the savannas. But if you're interested in exploring a lesser-seen side of the resort, stick around after dinner for the
Starlight Safari. This unique Enchanting Extras experience is a guided nighttime tour of the savanna, where you'll observe the animals with a super-cool night vision device! To snag your spot, be sure to
make your reservation here up to 60 days in advance.
I hope this information is helpful, Amie, and that you enjoy every bite of your meal at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! If you have any other planning questions, you know
where to find me right here at planDisney!
Stay wild,
Allison
