I will visit the Animal Kingdom on February 12, 2018. I did not get a fast pass for Avatar Flight of Passage. Extra Magic Hours start at 8:00am. I plan to be there at 7:30am and go to the rope drop for the ride. What are my chances to ride this?

    Hi Kelly,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Avatar Flight of Passage is my new favorite attraction in Walt Disney World (or I should say my favorite new attraction, because Space Mountain will always be my favorite favorite).  Pandora – The World of Avatar is simply breathtaking and mesmerizing.

Your chances to enjoy Avatar Flight of Passage are good if you can manage the attraction standby queue.

On our last visit just about two months ago, my wife and I took the same approach you’re planning. We arrived at Disney's Animal Kingdom much earlier than the morning Extra Magic Hours. After entering the park and making a quick-paced walk to Pandora, we joined the attraction standby queue which was already wrapped well outside of Pandora. We joined the queue at the “90-minute wait from this point” mark, but the wait was more like 60 minutes. I won’t offer any spoilers here, but I will say I found the queue experience pretty cool.

I can tell you that we enjoyed Avatar Flight of Passage so much that we returned the next day and spent about 150 minutes in the attraction standby queue.

You might very well have a different experience with the attraction standby queue when you arrive, but I will say that in my experience the attraction was well worth every minute of our wait.

Fly your banshee and enjoy your Disney!
