Hi, Katie!
You’ll be relieved to know that the Disneyland Resort is extremely accommodating when it comes to
dietary restrictions due to common food allergies. Many restaurants, including table-service and quick-service locations, offer allergy-friendly menus broken down by category with alternate meal options. Since your son has a few allergies, I recommend alerting your restaurant server upon arrival, and you’re also welcome to see the chef or a Cast Member trained in special diets to ensure his needs are met.
I don’t have kids with food allergies, but one of my good friends who visits the resort with me has a severe nut allergy, so I spend lots of time researching options. Nut-free snacks can be found throughout both theme parks at mobile carts. The individually-wrapped pickles and pineapple spears are well-known and crave-worthy treats, even for those not avoiding certain foods. I’ve also spotted pre-packaged cookies, trail mix and chocolate bars that are free of the eight most common allergens, including nuts and eggs. My favorite dairy- and nut-free dessert is one of the most iconic Disney treats: the Dole Whip, a pineapple-flavored soft serve delight!
There are multiple restaurants without any nut items on their regular menus at all, like Flo’s V8 Café, Award Wieners, Galactic Grill, and Hungry Bear Restaurant (with the exception of almonds on one salad). Lucky Fortune Cookery doesn’t use any egg or peanut/tree nut products in their food preparation, so this would be an excellent choice! However, please double check in person since ingredients and menus can change. If you have specific questions or requests, you can send an email to Special.Diets@Disneyland.com. I hope this helps, Katie. Please ask us more questions as your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth approaches!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
