I will be vising Disney World with my family from 12/29 - 1/2. What is the liklihood that the parks will close due to capacity on New Year's Eve? We are thinking of going to Epcot on 12/31 and want to know what time we need to arrive at the park.

Hi Erin! Each year crowds can change and predicting what they will be like is almost impossible. Basing on past years the first park to close to capacity is the Magic Kingdom. Epcot is a much larger park and can handle more guests so it is a good choice for a date such as New Years Eve. Generally if you are a Disney resort guest you will get into the park but from experience do not trust this statement someone might tell you. Instead talk with your resort concierge and ask them to call Epcot to see what the capacity policies will be for New Years Eve. Always give yourself some cushion and go early if possible.

If you have a dining reservation understand that on this day you are likely still going to wait for your table. But it is worth the wait and follow that with a good viewing of the very special Illuminations show. Alcohol is served in this park so if you have young children your best viewing area is between the gift stores at the start of the World Showcase.
