If there is a visa promo should I sign up when the promo is announced or ahead of time? I see at times there is 30% off rooms and that's what I'd like to try and get but I want to make sure there is a promo before I sign up for a card w a fee.

    Hello, Sara,

If there’s a Disneyland Resort vacation deal to be had, I am there for it. Earning Disney Rewards Dollars as a Disney Visa Cardmember is one way I find those deals.

Yes, you may wait to sign up for a Disney Premier Visa Card until you learn of a special offer or discount. However, if you think you are going to want to pursue this type of offer, I recommend applying sooner than later. That way, you’ll be notified via Cardmember communications about available offers early and will already have your credit card in hand and ready to use for your offer purchase. Hotel discounts are often limited in both booking windows and the number of available rooms for the deals. So it may be best to book an offer as soon as possible after it is announced.

Tony’s Tip: If you are concerned about signing up for a credit card with an annual fee, there is another option available to gain access to Disney Rewards benefits. Besides the Disney Premier Visa Card, you may also be interested in applying for a Disney Visa Card. The Disney Visa Card has fewer Rewards Dollars redemption options when compared to a Disney Premier Visa Card, a lower rate of earning Disney Rewards Dollars, and a smaller statement credit offer for new applicants. But it also has no annual fee and many of the same benefits and opportunities for savings. It may be worth making some calculations based on your expected spending to determine which of the two card types is best for your needs.

There are quite a few benefits that come with a Disney Visa Card. One of my favorites is special financing on select Disney vacation packages. If you happen to be interested in other ways to save on your Disneyland Resort vacation, my fellow planDisney Panelist Kristen has some super magical tips as well. And, of course, you can keep coming back to planDisney to ask for more advice and tips. We hope to hear from you again soon, Sara.
