Can I use my visa debit card for the 100$ deposit?

    Welcome to planDisney, Marie-Eve!

Hooray, You’re going to Walt Disney World! Nothing compares to the excitement I feel when I have a visit booked. I guess arriving and being in the theme parks or at my resort is better, but you know what I mean. The whole process is exciting! My family finds it hilarious that as soon as I get the “go” to book I’m nose-deep in my computer planning and budgeting. It’s a little excitement rush and helps escape the real world for a bit. Disney is my happy place and I’m thrilled to see you too will be enjoying it very soon!

Now, when it comes to your resort deposit, you can use any form of payment for the deposit hold that you wish. Your debit card will work out just fine! Please keep in mind that if your debit card is not on file and you have a room-only reservation, the card linked to your My Disney Experience profile will automatically be charged for your final payment on your arrival date. That is if you have completed the online check-in! If you rather hold off until you arrive to make that payment switch, I recommend not completing the online check-in and heading over to the front desk when you arrive. A Cast Member will be able to finalize your payment and allow you to switch to a different form of payment if you need to.

Something else to consider is a Disney Gift Card! My family likes using these to help manage our vacation budget. Since you can preload any amount you want, it makes things easier to keep track of in terms of budget. Even my little ones get their own Disney Gift Cards to spend. It gives them a sense of freedom and responsibility, really making them select their souvenir purchases wisely. I do hold onto their Disney Gift Cards for them and just hand them over when they are ready to pay. It keeps everything organized and as I’ve mentioned, on budget.

Marie-Eve, I hope this helps answer your question so that you can get back to the important stuff like planning where you’re going to eat, or what you're going to do! Have a great visit and if there’s anything else we can help with, please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Enjoy your visit,

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
