Is there a virtual queue/waitlist I can join for restaurant reservations? Blue Bayou is fully booked and would be nice to eat there on our first visit to Disneyland!

Ahoy there, Ohannes! You're charting a course for your very first voyage to the Disneyland Resort? Shiver me timbers, am I excited for ye! And it sounds like you've got your sights set on a treasure of a dining experience at Blue Bayou! I'm thrilled to help you plan your adventure!

I've had the pleasure of dining at Blue Bayou myself a few times, and let me tell you, it's an experience you won't soon forget! Not only can I confirm you're making a fantastic choice, but I can also share that the food is absolutely delicious! Blue Bayou is nestled right inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland Park, which sets the stage for a truly immersive dining experience. Imagine this: you can enjoy watching the boats gently float by on the water, all while you feast on tasty Louisiana fare. It's like stepping right into a storybook!

Now, as you can imagine—and as you saw firsthand when you tried booking a reservation—Blue Bayou is a popular spot for all sorts of park Guests, for all of the reasons I described above! Dining reservations open 60 days in advance, so Guests dining there today likely booked two months ago in order to secure their spots. But don't you worry, Ohannes! There might still be a chance to snag a table at Blue Bayou.

You asked about virtual queues and waitlists, and I am happy to share that Blue Bayou does have a walk-up waitlist on select days. I’d recommend checking walk-up availability in the Disneyland mobile app by tapping the plus (+) sign in the bottom menu, followed by “Check Dining Availability”. After selecting the number of people in your party, you may see a “Join a Walk-up List” button at the bottom. If you don’t see Blue Bayou listed here, you can also check near the entrance of the restaurant, as sometimes they have a QR code displayed that you can scan to join the walk-up list.

And Ohannes, for dining reservations in general, this is the piece of advice I find myself sharing most often: Look early and look often. It’s best to keep an eye on the dining reservations page on the website or in the app in case something opens up. Plans can change, and reservations are known to pop up from time to time. I’ve found that some of the greatest reservation cancellation activity happens in the days leading up to the desired reservation date. I’ve even been able to score same-day reservations at some of Disneyland’s most popular dining locations, including Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure Park, just by checking availability in the Disneyland mobile app!

I hope these tips will be helpful in securing your spot at this treasured dining location, Ohannes! Remember, a little bit of planning (and maybe some pirate's luck) can go a long way! May your reservation be as certain as a ship following the North Star. I wish ye fair winds and following seas on your quest for a Blue Bayou reservation, and may your Disneyland adventure be filled with magic and delicious eats!
