How will the virtual queue work for groups that do not stay together the entire day. We have little ones and some of the adults plan on splitting off to ride that the are not for the little ones. Right now I have everyone’s tickets linked to my account.

I sense the Force is strong with you, Dini. I’m so glad you’ve trusted in the Force and have found your way to us here at planDisney. I’m no Jedi Master myself, but I do feel capable of passing down my knowledge to you, Young Padawan.

My family has recently returned from Walt Disney World Resort where we traveled as a party of 8. As the most knowledgeable Jedi, I kept everyone's tickets and passes linked to myself. After securing a boarding group in the morning, we all ended up splitting into groups of 4 at the parks. Once it was time to ride, and I received the confirmation to return, I called the other party to meet us at the entrance. It took about 10 minutes to get us all back together and we were able to ride and use rider swap just fine.

Dini, keep in mind this was my experience at Walt Disney World Resort. I do think you will be able to do something similar at Disneyland Resort when you visit. I also recommend that if you are planning on splitting, have each member of your party download the mobile app. Once downloaded they will be able to sign in to their Disney account and even if they don’t manage their ticket, they will be able to check which boarding group is boarding periodically during the split. This will help everyone juggle their day and be able to somewhat project and plan for the approximate time your group will be called.

Dini, I do hope this helps answer your question. Please be sure to let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.

May the Force be with you!

Meet the Panelist: Shantel, Alabama

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
