Hi there, Rachel, and welcome to planDisney!
As a mom of a little Guardian who isn't quite tall enough to save the Galaxy and two Users who can't enter the Grid, I'd love to share my Virtual Queue experience with you, Rachel.
Currently, there are two attractions at Walt Disney World Resort that utilize the
Virtual Queue system:
TRON Lightcycle / Run (Magic Kingdom Park) and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (EPCOT). If you have a valid theme park ticket and park reservation for the given theme park, when the Virtual Queue system opens in the
My Disney Experience app at 7 a.m., you will not need to select your child as a member of your riding party.
When your Virtual Queue boarding group is called, you can ask a friendly Cast Member near the front of the attraction's entrance to set up
Rider Switch. The first party will go through the standby queue while your littlest Mouseketeer who doesn't meet the height requirement or doesn't want to ride waits with an adult. After the first group is done, you'll switch, and the second party (usually a limit of two people) will enter the attraction via the faster
Lightning Lane queue. Although this means that my husband and I don't get to ride together when we use Rider Switch, we love that we don't have to totally miss out on these cool attractions and aren't separated from the whole group for long.
By the way, both of the attractions that I mentioned are going to blow you away! The theming is out of this world, and the thrills are unforgettable. I hope that you have an amazing time at the Most Magical Place on Earth, Rachel.

Magic always,
