If I have a virtual queue spot and my group is called but I cannot go, am I able to cancel the boarding group and try again at the 1pm drop?

Hey Roger and welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you asked this question because it happened to us with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. As we know life can pull us out of hyperspace before we are ready and Disney is prepared for those situations. Let me share with you what to do.

When you have a Virtual Queue Boarding Group and a member of the group needs to drop out, even if it is the Guest who secured the group, head straight to the Guest Experience Team as soon as possible. They wear royal blue shirts and are located throughout the theme parks underneath the same color umbrellas. They have magical abilities that could only be given by Sorcerer Mickey himself. Explain the situation including the fact that you would like to be able to try and get a boarding group for a later time. Remember you must have entered the park where the Virtual Queue is offered before the 1:00 PM opportunity to be eligible for the second virtual queue opportunity. We have experienced two outcomes when this has happened. The first is the Guest Experience Team will either add or subtract the Guest in question from the original boarding group and then either reassign them separately to a later time (if available) or second, release them back into the general population for a chase at the second boarding group lottery. If you find out at the last second that you are unable to attend for whatever reason then approach the Guest Experience team after your virtual boarding group was called but before the 1:00 PM drop. Remember, the folks in royal blue are your "go-to folks."

planDisney Pro Tip: If for some reason the Virtual Queue does not work out for you then consider purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane.

Roger, I hope this information gives you some peace of mind and helps you enjoy your next Disney adventure. Please write me back directly with any follow-up questions.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
