Hi, Dorothy! Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with this great question!
When you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, you'll see that there are different ways to experience different attractions. Most of the time, you'll just hop in a standby queue and wait your turn in line to ride. On select attractions, Disney offers a "virtual queue," which is just a way for Guests like us to secure a place in line to board the attraction later in the day. For attractions that offer it, the opportunity to join the virtual queue opens at specific times each day in the
My Disney Experience mobile app, allowing Guests the chance to be assigned a boarding group, and then head to the attraction to ride when the group is called. That way, you can do other fun things instead of waiting in a long line!
As I write this, the only attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort that will be using the virtual queue system in the near future is
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, which opens at
EPCOT on October 1, 2021.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at
Disney's Hollywood Studios previously employed the virtual queue, but Disney has recently paused it for that attraction.
I hope you found this information helpful, Dorothy! There are so many things to know to plan a vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort - and that's why we're here! We love helping other Guests make the most of their Disney days, so be sure to come see us again if you have any more questions!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
