Hi Jennifer. Thank you for reaching out to planDisney.
I just love the
Disney Genie+ service and the
Virtual Queue system. With Disney Genie+, you can get access to the
Lightning Lanes for a shorter wait at over 40 different attractions across the resort. You can make your first reservation at 7 a.m. EST and then make another once you've experienced your first attraction. You can continue to do this one at a time throughout the day! And speaking of convenience, the Virtual Queue system allows you to join a Boarding Group for a chance to ride certain attractions without having to wait in a very long line. At this time, the two attractions that offer a Virtual Queue are
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at
EPCOT and
TRON / Lightcycle Run at
Magic Kingdom Park.
I am happy to report that you
can make both a Lightning Lane reservation through Disney Genie+
and try to obtain a Boarding Group through a Virtual Queue at the same time. To do this, I would highly recommend having one person try for the Lightning Lane and one person try for the Virtual Queue. Just make sure that your party is
linked together through your
My Disney Experience account and that you are both logged into your
My Disney Experience mobile app and ready to go for 7 a.m. As a bonus tip, the person trying for the Virtual Queue can select everyone they want in their Boarding Group before 7 a.m. through the app. This way, you don't have to worry about selecting all of the people you want to be included when they become available at 7 a.m. because you will already have done so. This will save you some precious time!
Jennifer, if you don't get a Boarding Group in that first round at 7 a.m., don't be discouraged. As long as you are in the park, you can try again at 1 p.m.!
If you have any other questions, please feel free to
reach out again in the future. We are always happy to help!
Keep moving forward,
Matt
