Welcome to planDisney, Garrett!
While a visit to Walt Disney World Resort can make even the most ordinary of days feel a bit magical, I've always loved how The Most Magical Place on Earth tends to sprinkle a bit of extra pixie dust on holidays. Whether it's a season-long celebration for
Christmas and
Halloween or
a day of festivities in honor of Fat Tuesday, it's clear that Mickey and his friends are always looking for a reason to celebrate.
Speaking of reasons to celebrate,
last year Walt Disney World announced that a new Villains-inspired show would be coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2025, and in honor of
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After's Summer 2025 debut, February 13, 2025, was christened Villaintine's Day. This surprise celebration exclusive to Disney's Hollywood Studios included appearances by Disney Villains as well as the distribution of commemorative
'Villaintine's Day' Cards to Guests. While no information has been released indicating whether or not it is intended to be an annual event, the inclusion of information about the new show on the Villaintine's Cards leads me to believe that this celebration was simply a promotion for Unfaily Ever After. Of course, 2024 also featured an announcement that
Magic Kingdom Park would be welcoming a Villains Land in the coming years, so there is a chance that the event could continue both as a celebration of Hollywood Studios' new show and in anticipation of the forthcoming addition to Magic Kingdom Park. Since we don't yet have a definitive answer to your question, I encourage you to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as this is where announcements for celebrations such as this are typically shared.
Speaking of exciting updates shared on the Disney Parks Blog, earlier this week we were treated to a
sneak peak of floats that will be part of the much-anticipated nighttime parade debuting at Magic Kingdom Park this summer,
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. I can't wait to see them shine in person!
Thanks for bringing your question to us at
planDisney, Garrett. Even when we don't have a definitive answer, we're always happy to provide any insight gained from our years of experience visiting Disney Parks, so feel free to stop back by.
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
