Ahoy there Corinne! Welcome aboard planDisney. Thanks for sailing by en route to adventure.
Shiver me timbers! You arrrr in for quite a swashbuckling stay at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. From swimming at the
Fuentes del Morro Pool to enjoying libations at the
Banana Cabana Pool Bar, to
fishing off of Caribbean Cay Island, there's plenty to see, eat, and do at this tropical outpost. If you like the view from the crow's nest, you'll love riding the
Disney Skyliner to
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Because the grounds of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are quite extensive, an internal bus system takes Guests where they want to go within the resort. The village of Martinique is the closest to Old Port Royale, but some buildings in Barbados are also nearby. My family and I stayed in Jamaica during one vacation, and although we had to cross the bridge spanning Barefoot Bay to reach the main building, it was a very short walk.
Buses departing for the theme parks usually make stops in the following order: Martinique, Old Port Royale, Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica, and Aruba. Keep in mind, this is subject to change, and during busy hours, I've seen buses only stop at two or three villages before departing the resort for the theme parks. On a recent stay, we were headed to
Magic Kingdom Park just before park opening, and some buses were stopping at the first three villages only, while others were picking up Guests at the final three.
I hope this helps as you prepare for your voyage, Corinne. I love Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and there's something to treasure about every village. If there's a certain spot you'd prefer to be in, be sure to make your request during
online check-in. Although these aren't guaranteed, I find that Cast Members do their best to make Guests' wishes come true. Thanks again for coming to see us at planDisney, and best wishes as you prepare to sail for your adventure.
Bon voyage!
