Hi, Samantha!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for visiting us with your great question about the
Disneyland Resort. My family spent Independence Day at the resort a couple years ago, and we had a great time saluting the stars and stripes with a special
fireworks spectacular, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky,” set to patriotic music!
The theme parks, especially Disneyland Park, can be very busy on the Fourth of July, and Guests start staking out their spot to view fireworks on Main Street, U.S.A. in the afternoon. Viewing from outside the parks is a great idea to avoid some of the crowds, although you won’t be able to see the lower fireworks or light projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle. However, you should be able to view the fireworks that are higher in the sky and even enjoy the accompanying music and dialogue from the Esplanade between the entrances to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. You’ll have to pass through a security checkpoint to get there, but a theme park ticket is not required to access this area. If for some reason viewing isn’t available to you from the Esplanade that evening, glimpses of the show can also be seen from the Downtown Disney District and the
Disneyland Resort Hotel concierge lounges (if you happen to be a Guest staying in a club-level accommodation).
I hope this helps you plan, Samantha, and that you have a star-spangled visit to the Happiest Place on Earth this summer! Please write back with any other questions you can dream of as your trip approaches.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
