Hi Sherry ~
First of all, thank you for your service to our country. We stand free because of amazing people like you. Currently, the Walt Disney World Resort is offering
specially priced theme park tickets in 2017 for members of the U.S. military including those that are retired. I would also suggest looking into
Shades of Green at the Walt Disney World Resort for their resort rates and ticket prices.
Here are some other suggestions that may help you save money while planning and during your trip:
* Check out the
current special offers, deals, and discounts. An Authorized Disney Travel Planner can help you compare offers.
* Bring your own food and water into the parks but keep in mind that glass (other than baby food jars) is not permitted in the theme parks.
* If you're not on the Disney Dining Plan, you can order entrees at quick-service dining locations without the sides.
* If you're not on the Disney Dining Plan, order a kid's meal or split a meal.
* They do offer free ice water at quick-service locations.
* Bring Ziplocs to use for leftover grapes or carrots from meals to snack on later.
* Eat some meals in your room. There are some local places that will deliver groceries to your resort.
* If you make advanced dining reservations, make them for a late lunch. You get big portions and you can eat lighter for dinner when meals are more expensive.
* Buy ponchos, umbrellas, and water misters prior to your trip.
* There are lots of free fun activities to do outside the theme parks (let us know if you need suggestions).
Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We're hEAR for you!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
