    how does a veteran get chosen to be in the parade or get honored at any other events at Disney

    Hi Julie! Welcome back to planDisney.

    You are most certainly on the countdown to your Magical vacation during The World's Most Magical Celebration 50 yEARS in the making. While at Walt Disney World Resort, indulge in specialty-themed treats found in the 50th Anniversary Celebration Sips and Bites Guide. You can enjoy Walt's Chili-Cheese Dog from Casey's Corner at Magic Kingdom Park.

    First, whether it is you or another person in your travel party who has served this nation, I thank you for your service to this country. I always enjoy watching the Flag Retreat at Magic Kingdom Park held around 5:00 PM each day. I did a little Google research on this subject reading through military veterans' opinions and tips regarding the selection process. It appears the selection is random and voluntEARS are no longer accepted at City Hall. However, here are a few common tips offered. The early bird dressed in identifying veteran attire seems to get the worm here. Set the alarm to make rope drop and be sure to chat up your friendly Cast Members at the gates or around Main Street U.S.A. Good Luck!

    No matter which theme parks you are visiting, be sure to stay until the sun goes down and Disney icons come to shimmering EARidescent life during Beacons of Magic. My favorite is Spaceship Earth at EPCOT followed closely by the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
