Vero Beach planning question! I haven't been to Vero Beach since 2019 and I'm looking for dining and exploring ideas. I do have a reservation for breakfast at the Wind & Wave Grill. Looking for ideas outside of the resort. Thank you!

    Hi there, Vanessa!

Welcome Home and I'm so happy to "sea" you here at planDisney.   How exciting you have an upcoming stay at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. When the magic of Disney comes together with the sights, sounds, and smells of the beach, we got no troubles as life is the bubbles!  It's one of my favorite Disney Vacation Club Resorts, and our family has visited it many times.

Disney's Vero Beach Resort is idyllic in every way. I mean, how many wonders can one Resort hold?  But, I can understand that sometimes, you want to go where the people are, Vanessa.  There are a few activities in the area that might interest you.

For starters, Disney's Vero Beach Resort is located in the Atlantic's Treasure Beach area, which has opportunities for shopping in boutiques and nearby outlet stores.  My parents love to enjoy the wonders of the local state parks and the McKee Botanical Garden.  The Indian River Lagoon is where you will discover a treasure trove of 36 rare and endangered species and one-third of the U.S. manatee population, as well as some traditional Florida plant life. Speaking of treasure, Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum is also a fascinating stop to see all of his collections from his discoveries off the coast of Florida. If you want thingamabobs, he's found plenty!

I would recommend also speaking to the Front Desk at Disney's Vero Beach for additional recommendations of nearby restaurants and activities.  As those Cast Members are local, they will likely be a great resource for recommendations.

If you are looking for a few additional fun activities while staying at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, we love to take a bike ride, enjoy a Spa day, golf or venture out in the morning with the Disney Conservation Team Wildlife to observe and learn about the nesting turtles.

Look at this stuff - isn't it neat?  With so much to do at and around Disney's Vero Beach Resort, you certainly won't be sitting around flippin' your fins, Vanessa!

One final hidden gem for you. Remember that eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can take advantage of Member Extras and benefits, including some discounts at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. It's just another way to maximize your Membership during your vacation.

I hope this helps you make the most magical memories, Vanessa. If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back and see me here, where I'll be waving at you to welcome you home.

    Have a magical stay!
