I've been a vegetarian for the past six years. 1,5 years ago I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance, making it a bit more difficult for me to eat out. Is it possible to find glutenfree food in WDW that's also vegetarian?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Stine! I went with my best friends on a Walt Disney World Resort girls weekend just last fall and we had a blast! One of them is Gluten Free and Dairy Free, so I am familiar with the allergy menus!

There are a lot of restaurant choices for your around the Resort with a few ways to order! If you’d like to eat at a Quick Service Counter eatery, you’ll walk in and ask the Cast Member at the door for an allergy menu. Here, you’ll find entrees and more broken down into categories like Dairy Free, Gluten Free, no shellfish and more. I would recommend checking the Gluten Free section of the menus and either choosing something vegetarian or opting to leave off the meat from an entree. My best friend chose to nosh on plenty of salads, and GF dishes over the weekend, but we quickly learned that it takes about 10 minutes more to order an allergy meal, so be sure to choose a seat and take a restful breath while you wait for your freshly prepared meal! If you have Table Service recommendations, be sure to mention your allergies and intolerances to your waiter, and know you may also choose to speak with the chef about any concerns. Disney takes these issues seriously, which provides great peace of mind. When my bestie and I visit again, she’s already browsed a cool website called Allergyeats.com/disney that let her see the best restaurants for her and possible menu items that fit.

I would recommend visiting Terra Treats in Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a meal, beer or a snack, since nearly everything served at this magical cart is gluten free. If you have more questions about dining, please ask another question, and we’ll see ya’ real soon! ~ Lindsey P
