Hi, Angelique!
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about the Disneyland Resort. The Downtown Disney District is a great place to mix and mingle with friends when you’re lucky enough to live near the Happiest Place on Earth!
The Disneyland Resort is extremely accommodating when it comes to common dietary restrictions. While there may not be many vegan options advertised on the regular menus of the restaurants at the Disneyland Resort Hotels, Guests are always welcome to discuss their dietary concerns with the chef or a Cast Member trained in special diets to ensure their needs are met.
Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa focuses on California-inspired cuisine, including many seasonal fruits and vegetables, making it a wonderful choice for vegetarian and vegan diners. Your friend can request dishes such as a fresh vegetable and tofu stir-fry, spaghetti with marinara sauce, or olive oil mashed potatoes, for example.
In the Downtown Disney District, I recommend
Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria because many dishes can be modified to suit a vegan diet. Pasta with marinara sauce, sauteed broccoli or spinach, roasted potatoes, bruschetta (sans cheese), fresh fruit, minestrone soup, arugula salad, and margherita or funghi pizza (again, without cheese) would all be good vegan choices. For a quick lunch date, head over to Earl of Sandwich for a caprese sandwich with avocado and without cheese, a Greek salad (hold the cheese and chicken), a veggie sandwich, or a fruit cup.
Bon appetit, Angelique! I hope these suggestions help and that you enjoy many more tasty meals at the Disneyland Resort with your friend.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
