Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Angela!
There is nothing like the moment when the story comes alive for a child visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. It makes my heart so happy to see princes and princesses dressed as their favorite characters, twirling,
dancing, laughing, and living their best lives on vacation. I love that you’ll be packing a magical dress for your princess on your upcoming visit!
To my knowledge, portable steamers are not available at any of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. I do recommend either calling the front desk at
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort when you arrive, or stopping by to ask a Cast Member, as you never know what magical tools they have available. You will find an iron in your room, so you could test its steam function to see if it will do the trick. And, of course, don’t forget the old standby: hanging the dress in the bathroom while a hot shower runs.
I’ve packed quite a few princess dresses in my day, and my packing tip is to lay the dress flat and carefully roll it rather than folding it. I also always bring a reusable bag with a change of clothes when we’re wearing our princess dresses in the theme parks – my little ones could only wear the dresses for short periods of time, as they can get kind of hot and scratchy, so we liked to have a change of clothes on hand to cool off and get comfy.
When the dress is on and your little one is feeling all the royal vibes, be sure to stop for so many pictures! We have a photo of my son hugging
Elsa, his absolute favorite character, while dressed in his Elsa dress, and I just love the pure joy on his face.
Memory Maker is a great way to ensure those special moments are captured by professional photographers, and whether it’s a beautiful portrait in front of Cinderella Castle or a spontaneous moment with a
beloved character, it’s such a lovely way to ensure your memories are preserved and shared for years to come.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
