Hi Alejandrina,
Welcome to planDisney! Choosing the perfect resort for your family is the first step in building a plan for your Walt Disney World vacation, so I'm pleased to give you my thoughts to help with that decision.
The Disney Resorts Collection of hotels has something for everybody, from tent camping at Fort Wilderness to the opulence and grandeur of the Grand Floridian. Even though the Value Resorts, which you asked about, are on the lower end of the price scale, they still offer the Disney attention to detail and theming and the benefits that come with staying on Disney property.
My family's favorite value resort is
Pop Century. We've stayed there dozens of times since the resort opened. Each room has a regular queen-size bed and another queen bed that folds down from the wall. We like this resort for the pop culture across the decades theme, the food court and the proximity to the
Skyliner for easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Or we can hop on a bus to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom or Disney Springs.
The adjacent
Art of Animation resort takes the theming to an even higher level with its larger-than-life statues of characters from
Cars,
The Lion King,
The Little Mermaid and
Finding Nemo. A majority of the accommodations at Art of Animation are family suites that sleep up to 6. And it's Big Blue Pool is the largest swimming pool on Disney property.
The All-Star Resorts --
Movies,
Music and
Sports -- round out the value line. These three adjacent resorts with their individual themes are located closest to Animal Kingdom and provide free bus transportation to all four theme parks and Disney Springs. Like Pop Century, the rooms at the All-Stars have a regular queen bed and a fold-down queen bed, though All-Star Movies does have some rooms with one king bed. And both Movies and Music have some family suites.
You can check availability, price and special offers on the Walt Disney World website under Places to Stay and
Value Resorts. Or, if you would like to talk through the options with a person, you can
call Disney Tickets and Hotel Reservations, and a cast member will walk you through the reservation process.
Once you've made a resort choice, Alejandrina, then the real fun begins as you plan which parks to visit, where to eat and what fun experiences are top on your family's list. If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us here at planDisney.
Happy planning,
Wilma
