Is a valid passport acceptable as zip code verification for the socal resident pass?

Welcome to planDisney, Diana. It sounds like you’re planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, and I’m delighted to help you prepare.

The California Resident ticket offer is such a great deal. I love the flexibility this ticket gives you to visit on nonconsecutive days so you can spread out the magic. The offer is available to residents within ZIP codes 90000-96199, and you must present a valid government-issued photo ID for admission. Because a passport does not indicate a current address anywhere, this unfortunately would not be an accepted form of ID to prove residency. Typically, a Driver’s License or a California State ID with a valid ZIP code would be used.

Oh, bother! I wish I had better news to share with you, Diana. If you’re able to get to your local DMV before you visit to get one of the government-issued IDs mentioned above, you should be good to go. If you’ve already purchased the ticket, the good news is that you have until May 21, 2026, to use it. Hopefully, that gives you plenty of time to get things squared away.

There’s so much magic happening at the Disneyland Resort in 2026. I can’t wait to snack my way through the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. Until then, I’m overjoyed with the update Disney Eats shared on all of the new eats, treats (and everything else in between) for the beginning of this year.

Diana, while this is probably not the answer you were hoping for, I hope the information is still helpful as you get ready for your upcoming visit. Please come back to visit us with any other questions you might have.
