Hi Carol,
Welcome to planDisney! I hope you're having a blast dreaming about all the magic and fun you'll be able to enjoy next fall at the Walt Disney World Resort!
October is one of my favorite times to visit. Between the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, beautiful fall decor, and fun seasonal special events like this year's
Disney's After Hours Boo Bash, it's simply spooktacular. With that said, it's not one of the slowest times of the year to visit. Between fall breaks at many schools around the country and the Columbus Day holiday, you'll find plenty of other Mouseketeers there. It's not one of the most popular times of the year to visit, either, though, and I don't think the crowd levels will impede any of your plans. If I were you and that's the week that works best, I wouldn't hesitate to go.
When you're thinking through the details of your trip, I'd encourage you to decide what your top priorities will be and build your itinerary around those. If you're a foodie, be sure to make your
dining reservations 60 days ahead of time and check out the current
Foodie Guides before you arrive. If you're an attraction junkie, consider purchasing
Disney Genie+ and/or some
Individual Lightning Lane selections to minimize your time spent in standby queues. If you love discovering all of the magical details, make sure you arrive early at the parks each day so you can enjoy them when they're less crowded. If you'll be staying in a Disney Resort hotel, be sure to take advantage of
early theme park hours, and if you'll be staying at a Deluxe Resort or Deluxe Villa Resort, don't miss out on
extended evening hours, too!
Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Carol, and please feel free to bring us more questions as you're planning the details of your trip. I'm sending pixie dust that your itinerary will come together perfectly, and I hope you have a truly magical vacation next
fall!
Missy
