Vacationing at WDW in Oct with friends. Want to surprise our hubbys with a night out(they haven't seen each other in almost 2 yrs) ESPN Sporst Grill would be perfect(they both love sports)but I read it isn't open every night. Any other suggestions? Thanks

    Hi Kelly,

It's so sweet of you to plan an evening out for your husband and his friend.  You're right in that the ESPN Club, located along Crescent Lake at Disney's Boardwalk, is a mecca for sports enthusiasts.  You can follow along with several sporting events on the large screen, satellite fed televisions on the walls at this high energy restaurant while you dine.  I'd actually be very surprised if this restaurant weren't open during your October visit.  It has been open every time I've walked by it.  Perhaps you were confusing the ESPN Club with the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill over at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.  That restaurant does have more limited hours.

If the ESPN Club is not open during your stay, you might want to send your husband and his friend to Artist Point in Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  They could enjoy a beverage in the adjoining Territory Lounge as they watch some sports before dinner.  If they dine at the Turf Club at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, they could enjoy a round of pool before or after their meal.  Either place would enable them to spend some time catching up with one another.  These two restaurants do accept advance reservations if you call (407) WDW-DINE.

Wishing you a magical vacation with friends this October!
