Hello we are vacationing 8/6-8/12 2013 and I had a question about dinner reservations. We have the dining plan and have one sit down dinner a day. Is it suggested that we make reservations for the dinners? Is there are charge and where to eat?

    Hi Alexandra,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I'm glad you have decided on the Disney Dining Plan, my family uses it all the time and we find it is a great way to enjoy the amazing dining options offered at Walt Disney World Resort.  I would definitely recommend making your dining reservations as soon as possible, as the most popular restaurants will fill up fast.  There is no charge to make dining reservations, however, you will be asked for a credit card number to hold your reservations.

For me, deciding where to eat is almost as fun as actually being on vacation!  I find it is a great way for your family to get excited about your upcoming trip, and allows you to really plan an itinerary that works for your family.  Pick dining options around the theme park you will be visiting for each day, as you don't want to waste time traveling to and from your dining location.  Your choices will be very different depending on the age of your children, as well as your dining preferences.  Have a look at the different menus and begin to narrow it down from there.  If you would like some more suggestions based on your family's dining preferences, please send me another question and I would be happy to help you make more specific selections.

    Happy planning!
