Hi Walter,
It sounds like you are planning on enjoying a vacation at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. I love the sleek theme there, and the ability to walk to Magic Kingdom within ten minutes is fantastic! You should know that Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort does have a very nice pool area, Bay Cove Pool. It has a waterslide, a splash area for the little ones, and a whirlpool spa. Guests at Bay Lake Tower are also welcome to use the pools at the neighboring Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Typically, guests at Walt Disney World resorts only able to use the pool at the resort at which they are staying. If you are a Disney Vacation Club member staying on your membership, you will be able to "hop" to many other resort pools, assuming they are not at capacity. Unfortunately, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club is one of the pools that you are not allowed to hop to. Stormalong Bay is incredibly popular, and is thus reserved for guests at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club resorts. If you are a Disney Vacation Club member and are taking this vacation on your membership, I suggest that you visit the
Disney Vacation Club member website. From there, select the tab for "Membership Magic" and scroll down to "Perks." On that page, click on the section for "Recreation and Relaxation" for more information on Pool Hopping, including dates when pool hopping is not available, which I do not believe will impact your vacation. Since you are going to be close by, maybe your boys would enjoy a dip at the Nanea Volcano Pool at Disney's Polynesian Resort, with a waterslide and a volcano!
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Walter. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
