My vacation time does not start over until mid-April 2015, but are starting to plan a trip for sometime after April. We have one step-daughter in 1st grade and a 1 year old son. Any tips for our family's very first trip to WDW and when to bring them?

    Hi Stacy!

I think it is positively perfect that you are starting to plan next year's vacation and a very first Walt Disney World trip, too!  Hooray!  You must be very excited as you plan your magical adventure for your little prince and princess.

There are several tips for when you begin making your plans, but one of the best places to start is when and for how long?  I love visiting in September.  The crowds are a bit lighter, the weather seems to be a little cooler and the decorations and special events are wonderful.  My family especially loves Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!  Once you figure out when you'll be visiting and for how long, you can start making plans and dining reservations.  Come back and ask me if you need any help, but there is a wonderful website about planning with little ones you can use as a resource as you begin. It is chalked full of tips and information just for visiting with young children and all experiencing all their Disney Firsts.

Again, if there is anything else I can help you with, please send me another question.  Until then, happy planning; I look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm Lauren, a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family and friends. From graduations to birthdays, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon we’ve loved celebrating at the most Magical Place on Earth. I now have pre-teens who check wait times in the My Disney Experience App just for fun, so I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help you plan a little extra Pixie Dust for your next magical adventure.
