Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Olivia!
I’m happy to hear you’re planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in March, but so sorry to hear your military member is unable to attend. Mine’s a military family too, and I’ve run into this situation more than once – military schedules can be unpredictable. Here’s hoping they are able to find another time for a magical vacation!
I checked with a Cast Member, who told me that, without the military member (or someone else with a valid and active military ID, like their spouse), the
military theme park tickets cannot be activated, changed, or modified. This is similar to the regular ticketing process, where the person who purchased the tickets must show their ID in order to pick up the tickets at Will Call. The Cast Member I spoke with recommended that you contact the base ticket office from which the tickets were purchased to see if they can be exchanged for non-military tickets. Another option is to contact
Shades of Green at (407) 824-6257; they are the Walt Disney World Resort for service members, and their ticket office staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They’ve very likely encountered this situation and may be able to offer some solutions.
I’m sending pixie dust to you and your fellow travelers that this situation works out in the best way possible. If you’re not able to exchange the tickets, I’m hoping the military member can find another time to travel in 2020, and will be able to use the tickets on that visit.
Thanks for stopping by today, Olivia! Please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you plan your March visit.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
