Hello, Brett,My wife used to work in the insurance industry. From what I've learned from her, it can be a challenge to navigate through the nuances. I'll do the best I can to offer some clarity.Whether you are deciding if the Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan is right for you or have already purchased it and would like to know more about the coverage details, I recommend going straight to the source of information that applies to your specific reservation and place of residence. If you have a plan document emailed to you, you may consult that to get the correct information. Otherwise, you may find a link to the specific terms, conditions, and exclusions on the Disney Cruise Line website. From what I see, the latest Vacation Protection Plan underwritten by Arch Insurance Company excludes coverage of losses due to pre-existing conditions as defined in the plan. That is applicable for travel arrangement protection and travel insurance benefits. But the Vacation Protection Plan purchased through Disney Cruise Line happens to have an extra layer of protection on top of the insurance coverage. That is for pre-cruise cancellations that aren't already covered by the insurance portion of the plan, with the benefit being up to 75% of the cruise cancellation fee available as a future cruise credit. The nice thing about this magical coverage is that it applies for any reason, even if the cancellation is due to a pre-existing condition. Be sure to check the plan for details and any terms and limitations.I hope that helps shed some light on the Vacation Protection Plan situation, Brett. Please feel free to stop by planDisney again with any other questions you may have. As fellow Guests like you, it's an honor to help make Disney vacations as magical as possible for others. We're happy to offer advice, recommendations, and tips to make your cruise memorable.Have a great cruise, Brett!~Tony
