Hi Michael,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking me a question! I’ll admit that I’m pretty envious of the fact that you’re a Canadian who owns property down in Florida… I love escaping to the sunshine, especially during our dreary winter months, so having a place to call your own must be lovely!
From what I understand, you’re asking me
what types of documents or identification you’ll need in order to be eligible for the exciting
benefits and ticket offers available to Florida residents when they visit Walt Disney World Resort.
Although you can verify your residency online with certain types of government-issued identification, I doubt that you have a valid Florida state-issued ID card such as a driver’s license. Because of this, you’ll have to visit
Guest Relations at any of the Theme Parks or
Disney Springs with two documents, both dated within the past 2 months, that provide your residential address in Florida, along with a corresponding picture ID (such as your Canadian passport.) These documents can include proof of current mortgage, utility bills or mail from financial institutions or government agencies. Note that P.O. Boxes are NOT accepted as proof of Florida Residency.
I would recommend that you bring more than 2 documents, if you have them, just in case one of them isn’t considered valid proof of residency. You can also contact the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder help line at (407) WDW-PASS or use the
Annual Passholder Help Form if you have any questions beforehand. They’ll be happy to give you more information about what would help you prove your case, so to speak!
Please don’t hesitate to come back and see me if you have any other questions, especially once you’ve been able to secure your Florida Resident status and are able to plan even more Disney fun for you and your family!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
