We have a vacation planned for Feb. 2010. I called to reserve character meals and most are booked up. Do they only pre-book a certain amount and then have some left that I could book when I arrive? The Grand Floridan Cinderella dinner is my focus.

    Hi Colleen!
Character dining is the quintessential part of any magical trip to Walt Disney World! That said, it is also difficult at times to secure a reservation to the most desired meals and locations. Disney does not hold back any percentage of reservations. In fact, character meals are so popular, that guests can make reservations up to 180 days in advance. Cinderella appears at 2 other locations besides the Grand Floridian that you may want to try. Her most popular location is Cinderella's Royal Table inside the castle at Magic Kingdom. When calling, I would plan to ask for an off-peak time and any meal. This will increase your chances. A second location to try for Cinderella is the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway pavillion at EPCOT. The food is supposedly better, and the chances for a reservation are higher. If all 3 Cinderella options come up short, another favorite meal I would try is Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort for breakfast or dinner. It features Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Chip and Dale. If you cannot get advanced reservations, but get there early enough for breakfast or later in the dinner hour, you can usually get a stand-by table. I hope one of these options works for you and your family.
