Danielle from TN Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Our vacation package includes a family member from out of state, but magic bands will come to me...will she need her magic band in order to board the Magical Express, or can I wait until we check-in to give it to her? LOVE the Mom's Panel! Thanks so much!

Hi, Danielle! Thanks for the Moms Panel love! I had to crowdsource the pros for this answer since I've never had a situation like this myself.  My friends Jennifer, Jill, and Kimberly had the answer for which we are searching.  If you want to mail the MagicBand to your family member, then all will be well, but if you're like me and don't like the chances of it being lost in the mail, there are two other options.  First, you will receive a packet from the Magical Express which will also include a paper voucher for boarding the transportation from Orlando International to your Resort. You can mail him/her the paper voucher in advance. You are probably going to need to send the yellow Magical Express luggage tag anyway for him/her to place on checked luggage, so just tuck this in the envelope with it. Second, upon arrival, he/she can simply go to the Guest Services for the Magical Express and show a photo ID.  This name must match what is on your reservation. They will print the voucher he/she needs to board the Magical Express.  It will take a couple of minutes on your family member's part, but nothing is lost in transit this way. Boarding the Magical Express for your return home does not utilize the MagicBands. You will need the paper vouchers from the packet that will be mailed to you before your trip or the ones that are in the departure packet you will get in your Resort room the day before you fly home. Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
