I have a vacation package that I'm paying on for 5 people in June. Circumstances have changed and now 2 of those people cannot come. Can they be removed or am I out of luck for that money?

Hey howdy hey Julie and welcome to planDisney! There is nothing like kicking off vacation season with a trip to Walt Disney World Resort in those early summer months. So much will be going on this summer at Walt Disney World Resort, like the highly anticipated opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT this summer, it is a very exciting time to be visiting the parks. Sorry to hear that two of you members of the party will not be able to go with you on your trip, but don't worry, I have you covered on some options for canceling your trip.

I'm sure you are aware that once you book your vacation package to Walt Disney World Resort, there is a $200.00 deposit that is due at time of booking and the full amount is due 30 days prior to your date of arrival. Considering you are traveling in June, if you have only paid the deposit, you can easily go on your My Disney Experience account and update your reservation for party size and you should see the new total for the package on the site. That being said, you do also have an option to pay as you go, with the ability to pay on your vacation package little by little with the final payment due 30 days prior to your date of arrival. If this was the case for you, you would have to call Guest Services at (407) 939-5277 where you will be able to speak directly to a Cast Member and have them update the reservation and give you a refund on those members that cancelled. Keep in mind that you can make cancellations with full refund to vacation packages 30 days or more from your date of arrival. Any changes from two to 29 days from your date of arrival you will be charged a $200.00 cancellation fee and anything less than two days you will not get a refund. Sounds like you are keeping on it early so you should not have any issues with your refund.

Good luck with your continued planning and I hope your trip in June is a Magical one! If you have any further questions feel free to reach out, we love talking all things Walt Disney World Resort.

    Happy planning,

    Nick
