I have a vacation package booked for August 2026. On the first day of my trip, I plan to add a friend as a day guest to my reservation at check-in. Would my friend also be eligible for complimentary water park access that day?

Welcome to planDisney, Kwanhan! Thanks for sharing your question with us.

I’m happy to help with your question because the water park perk for Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests is one of my favorite things. My family was able to take advantage of this benefit multiple times in 2025, and it was such a great way to kick off our vacation.

According to the “Important Details” section on the water park perk page, this benefit is only available to registered overnight guests (those listed on the reservation) staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. It’s possible to add a guest to your reservation for the length of your stay, and you can read about that process here, but that means that day guests are not eligible for the water park benefit.

If you have questions about your reservation or this policy, don’t hesitate to call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line to speak with a helpful Cast Member.

2026 is going to be a fun-filled year at Walt Disney World, especially this summer. Along with the return of the water park benefit, Disney H2O Glow After Hours will be returning to Typhoon Lagoon, giving you even more time to splash and play. Summer 2026 will also see the debut of some updated attractions, like  Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, Soarin’ Across America, and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run.

Kwanhan, I hope you have a fantastic visit to Walt Disney World this summer. Pop right back if you have any other questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!

    Magical travels!
