    Our vacation is less than one month,we can blame the hubs for springing it on me! I would love to take my kids to a character meal, however all of the great ones are booked. Ideas on other CM's to take them to? They are 7&10, Mickey Pref NO POOH

    Hi Kimberly!

    I am sorry to hear that most of the character meals you want are not available.  But, even if you don't get one, you will have a great time at Walt Disney World!  We have taken a few "spur of the moment" trips (most of our trips are planned well in advance), and some of the spontaneous ones have been amongst my favorites!  

    We like to eat with the characters at Tusker House Restaurant.  The breakfast (Donald's Safari breakfast) is our favorite, but the food is always good there.  We usually have good luck getting a reservation there even when we don't book it way in advance.

    The Disney Junior breakfast and lunch at Hollywood & Vine is also a good choice that doesn't fill up quite as fast as others.  Your kids may enjoy meeting Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates), Sofia the First, and Doc McStuffins.

    Another idea for you is to use the Disney Dining Buddy service.  This is not an official Disney company, but an independent service that I have used several times.  You give them a date/time and restaurant, and they alert you if an opening becomes available.  It is $8 per request.  You may or may not get what you're looking for, but it could be worth a shot!
