We just had our vacation 9/24-9/29 2011. There was a crane in ALL of our pictures with Cinderella's castle because they were hanging lights on the castle. How early in Sept does that crane usually appear? Would like to avoid that/travel earlier next trip!

Hi there Lorraine!

There isn't a set schedule that we know of when they plan on for putting the lights on the castle this early for the following year. All of the planning is done internally and probably doesn't get released to the general cast members until just before they begin. In the past, they have begun in the last few weeks of September but I have also heard of the end of August. One thing I do know, is when we were there on September 30th for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, the crane was put down around five so I have a few pictures in front of the castle without the crane in the way. I wish I could be of more help! The only other advice is to keep an eye on the Disney fan sites which will let you know when the crane is in place but that would probably be a little late for your planning.
