Is the Vacation Club really worth it? It seems like a good deal, but I guess I don't really understand how the points and the real estate purchase work. Is it, the more real estate I purchase the more points I get during a year?

    Hi Samantha!
My family and I really feel that Disney Vacation Club is a fantastic way for our family to vacation.  I would encourage you to stop by a DVC desk at any of the theme parks or Downtown Disney when you are on property.  Also, I noticed that you live in New York and wanted to make you aware of the Doorway to Dreams store in Garden City, NY.  To find out more specifics about DVC, you may also call 877-382-7826 on Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 11:00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 8:30 am to 6:00pm.
Disney Vacation club is different from other timeshares in that you purchase points rather than a week somewhere.  You may use your points all in one year or bank them for the next year. The real estate purchase is represented by vacation points. You can stay one night or two to three weeks at a time depending on how many points you have available in a year.  Every use year, you will get the same amount of points that you have purchased. You do not have to always stay at a resort at Walt Disney World.  You can use points on Disney Cruise Line, Adventures By Disney,  and DVC resorts off property, such as Vero Beach and Hilton Head and Alani in Hawaii.  You can also use points through RCI in the World Passport Collection.  I have so much to say of this subject and am running out of room. Please send me a follow up question.  I would encourage you also to call or visit a DVC desk for more information as well.  Good Luck Samantha!
