Robyn from NC Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I have vacation booked week of Labor day for 7 days to visit all 4 parks. I am worried now about the crowds now that Star Wars Galaxy announced their opening today of Aug 29. I thought I was going at a lower crowd time and now not sure what I should do?

Hello Robyn and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

The entire universe is all a-buzz with the announcement that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be opening later this summer. And while I do think that crowds, especially at Disney's Hollywood Studios, will be increased, I am confident that you can still have a Magical time at the Walt Disney World Resort.

You planned well by choosing to be at the Walt Disney World Resort for seven days.. This should allow your family some downtime, away from the crowds to relax at your Resort or at Disney Springs. At any crowded time of the year, I recommend getting to the Parks each day before opening and having an itinerary in hand. We often use the great planning tools at to help design our days.  With an early morning arrival, I also suggest planning on leaving right around lunch time to head back to your resort for naps or swimming.  You can then return in the evening for dinner and one of the fabulous firework spectaculars.

Just make sure that you get your planning done, including FastPass+ selections and Disney Dining reservations, and I am sure you will find that you are well prepared for the inter-galactic crowds that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will bring. If you have more questions about planning your Walt Disney World vacation, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
