We have a vacation booked and are staying at WDW before and after our cruise. Will our vacation be linked so that we can make dining reservations for our entire trip? will we be able to use our drink cups at the resort for before and after cruise?

Welcome to planDisney, Amy! How excited you must be as your upcoming land and sea adventure draws near; combining the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line is the perfect way to make waves this summer!

Amy, as a guest staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you have the benefit of making Advance Dining Reservations 60 days in advance for the entire length of your stay, up to 10 days. It sounds like you might have two separate resort reservations in this case - one before your cruise and one after - which means you will have two separate reservation windows to make your dining selections. In this case, you will want to book any dining reservations for the reservation before the cruise on the opening day of your first resort stay and then return to book additional reservations for after your cruise on that second opening day.

When you purchase a resort-refillable mug at your Disney Resort hotel, the mug will be activated for use for 14 days from the date of purchase, so depending on the length of your initial reservation and your cruise, it might still be active upon your return if it's within that two-week window. As an added bonus, your mug can also be used onboard the Disney cruise ship at the complimentary beverage stations while you sail!

Now that we've handled those logistics, let's talk about all the fun you are going to have on your land and sea adventures! I recently joined the planDisney class of 2024 onboard the Disney Dream and we loved the rotational dining and Broadway-quality shows each night! If you'll be visiting Disney Castaway Cay as one of your ports of call, take a few minutes to listen to my panelist pals Jana and Diane share all the tips and tricks to make the most of your day on this private island!

While visiting the parks, your dates might overlap with the recently released dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park, which kicks off on August 9! There are some new spooktacular additions to look out for if you get the chance to attend; my family loves the ambiance of this special ticketed event to celebrate the spirit of Halloween!

Amy, I'm wishing you the most magical memories on your upcoming vacation! If you have any other planning questions before you embark on your journey, come back and let us know - at planDisney, we're always ready for a new adventure!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
