Hey Howdy Hey Eric and welcome to planDisney!
One of the best parts about booking a trip so early is the flexibility you have if things come up which may require a change in your original itinerary. Many times you can make all of these changes online through your
My Disney Experience account without having to call Disney. Let's see if we can walk you through the steps to get things changed over.
In most cases, when you log onto your My Disney Experience account you should be able to scroll to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and look to the far right for a link to "Change/Modify Reservation". After you click on that link, you should be brought to a different screen in which you should be able to search for the same resort but on a different date. As long as you can find accommodations in the same hotel, you should be taken through the prompts to make the appropriate changes. If you are unable to find availability at your originally booked hotel, you should also be able to change the resort you want to book as well. You should also be prompted on the price which may be different than the original price from your June/July trip. This should be reflected in your total amount due. As long as you booked a vacation package, your total amount would be due 30 days from your date of travel.
Going through these prompts you should also be taken through options to change your park tickets from the original dates to the new ones. If not, you can do that as well through your My Disney Experience account. When you log on, scroll to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section but look for the heading "My Tickets & Memory Maker" which you will click on. All of your tickets should be listed as well as members of the party they are assigned to. Under each ticket, you should see a "Change Ticket" link to make changes to your tickets. You should also be able to select the party members you will be making changes to. Go through the prompts to select your new dates. Make sure after you do this step, you go back and cancel your
Theme Park Reservations for June/July and rebook them for your new April dates. Charges may apply here as well if the dates you change to are different than the price you originally booked your tickets for.
At times, where you should see links to make changes, you might also see prompts such as "call (number provided) to make changes to your reservation" which you will have to call Disney to do so. If you wanted to, you could also
call Disney and have a Cast Member help you through these steps to make sure everything gets booked appropriately as well. Considering you are on this early, you should be able to go through this process with few issues with regards to availability but just know this also might come up where you would have to change your hotel selection or the dates of your park tickets.
There are so many great reasons to visit Walt Disney World Resort at the moment, but also so many exciting changes happening in the near future. New experiences like Journey of Water inspired by Moana in EPCOT and attractions like TRON Lightcycle Run in Magic Kingdom may be opening soon. Disney Parks Blog so you are well prepared for your trip.
