Hi Lauren, welcome to planDisney!
Sometimes plans change but the good news is, your Walt Disney World vacation is going forward! I'm happy to answer this question for you.
When you booked your
Walt Disney World Vacation Package, you should have seen a
Terms and Conditions link that included the modification and cancellation policies. I would recommend that you read that in detail prior to making any changes to your reservation. In general (and subject to change), cancellations made 30 days or more prior to your arrival date will be refunded (minus any cancellation fees that may have been assessed by a third-party hotel or other suppliers, and non-refundable travel protection plan costs). If you need to cancel and your arrival date is less than 30 days away, fees will be assessed per the Terms and Conditions.
If the hotel you are switching to is also on Disney property you may be able to simply modify the Resort Hotel you selected within your current vacation package. However, if you will be staying off Disney property, you can cancel your Disney vacation package and purchase your
Theme Park tickets separately.
These changes can likely be made online within your
My Disney Experience. If you have any difficulty or prefer to work with a cast member directly on your options, you can call
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations for assistance.
Lauren, I hope you find this information helpful. Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist you with. Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!
