If I have a vacation booked with Aulani but I only paid the deposit at this point, could I buy a DVC and use points for the rest of that vacation booking?

    Hi Christopher,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a great question about Aulani Resort!

If I understand your question correctly, you currently have a “cash” reservation at Aulani and you’d like to become a Disney Vacation Club Member and then use your Vacation Points towards the rest of your stay. The answer really depends on availability, among other things. First, you can’t really do a split cash/Vacation Points stay on the same reservation. You’d have to split your stay up into two reservations – one paid with cash for a certain number of nights, and another one using Vacation Points.

In addition, because you’d have to book a new stay for the nights using Vacation Points, there may not be any reservations left for your nights/choice of accommodation. Sometimes, there are only a certain number of rooms that are available to book with Vacation Points vs. those paid in cash due to local vacation ownership rules. If your dates aren’t flexible, then you might not be able to get those preferred dates back even if you tried to make a new reservation.

Because your request might get a little bit complicated, I strongly encourage you to contact the Disney Vacation Club Sales Center by phone in order to see what your options are. They may have special offers or promotions for new Members which might help make your Aulani vacation wishes come true!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us again if you have any questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
