We are from Utah & my 9 year old son has never been to Disneyland or World. He has not been to any amusement park. We have one day to spend at Disneyworld. Which theme park would be the best for his age? Considering Epcot or Magic Kingdom but open to i

    Hi Lisa,

Regardless of age, Magic Kingdom is a must see, especially for first time visitors.  There's just something magical about walking down Main Street with Cinderella Castle ahead that makes you giddy with excitement!

There are plenty of things to see and do that will interest a 9 year old boy.  I should know - I have one of my own.  I think you'll even find that he'll enjoy many of the attractions some people might refer to as "kiddie rides."  You won't be able to get everything in during one day, but here if my son's top 5 attractions are: Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and Big Thunder Mountain.

He also really likes Haunted Mansion, Mickey's PhilharMagic, and Monster's Inc. (he could have added more to the list, but I made him stop) :)

If you like pineapple, be sure to stop by Aloha Isle in Adventureland and order a pineapple DoleWhip.  It's a soft serve, frozen dessert that is delicious!

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
