We usually travel to WDW in January but are thinking about a mid-July trip. How late are the parks usually open during that time? Also, what's new in the parks for 2018? Thanks!!

    Hi David,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We have visited the Walt Disney World Resort several times in July. The weather can be sweltering but we always make it. We even managed to do the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package in the mid-afternoon July weather on our last visit!

Typically when we have gone in July, most parks have been open until at least 9:00 p.m. and later if they have late night Extra Magic Hours. Animal Kingdom theme park has closed earlier in years past but last summer they had late night extra magic hours for Pandora - The World of Avatar. My absolute favorite ride now is Avatar Flight of Passage.

For the summer of 2018 we are all anxiously awaiting the opening of Toy Story Land. Personally, I am super excited to ride the Slinky Dog Dash! Although we do not have exact opening dates yet, there is a good chance that you will get to experience the fun of Andy's backyard.

David, if you have not had a chance to ride the RELAUNCHED! Mission: SPACE, be sure to go on the exciting new journey. If you have not ridden the re-imagined Soarin', it is simply a must-do. Also, be sure to stop by Disney's Hollywood Studios to experience Star Wars at Walt Disney World Resort. My girls loved staring down Kylo Ren. Finally, you must see the Happily Ever After show. The fireworks, projections and music - AMAZING!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
