We usually do at least one trip a year. Unfortunately, we were unable to this year due to lossing our home in the August flood. We want to make an extended Christmas 2018 trip. How soon should/could we start planning?

    Hi Sherri,

Thank you for visiting us today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I understand you are looking at planning a vacation for Christmas of next year. I love the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort!

At this time, rates and package have not been released for next year. In general, this happens towards the end of the spring, so hopefully Mickey will have something for us in the next few weeks. That said, you could actually make a room reservation up to 500 days in advance. Note that the rates would be subject to change once the prices are finalized for next year, but it is the best way to book a specific room type and Resort hotel. You do need to speak with a Vacation Planning Specialist by calling (407) 939-1936, or via a travel agent.

If you are interested in a Magic Your Way Vacation Package, you could start looking at the type of Resort that fits your needs, and then keep an eye to the Disney Parks Blog for announcements. Then sometime next year, Mickey may help you save some Disney Dollars with a Special Offer.

One last tip: a Disney Dining Plan is the best way to prepay for your meals and leave home any worries about meal budgets. Then all you need to do is decide on which restaurants to choose. Happy planning!
