Hi Moms. We usually go to WDW the first two weeks of Dec. In 2008 it was cool but in 2010 we FROZE (and we're Canadian) Now we are coming Sept 28-Oct 8th. How should I pack? We don't want to cook but don't want to under pack. How do crowds compare? Thanks!

Hi Karen!  I completely understand your concern.  I've been to Walt Disney World in December a time or six myself and the weather that time of year can be very unpredictable!  Luckily, it's much more reliable during the late September/early October time frame.  You should expect really warm days and cool'ish evenings.  The pools and water parks will still be heavily used by guests seeking a respite from the hot and humid Florida weather.  Also to be expected are afternoon thunderstorms.  I've found them to be less frequent later in September (as compared to early September) but there is still a potential for heavy downpours.  Pack mostly shorts and short sleeves, but do come prepared with a sweatshirt or light jacket for evenings.  Also be sure to bring a poncho.  Crowd levels should be comparable to your first week of December visits.  I hope that helps!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
