I usually go to WDW in February every year. My sister wants to run the marathon in January and wants us to go then. How are the crowds at the parks the week before and after the marathon? Or are the parks just busy that weekend? Thanks for any help!

    Hi Heidi

I ran in the 2007 Marathon and I'm doing the half this upcoming January.  The weekend of the marathon as well as the week following it seemed to have very light crowds.  We really enjoyed ourselves and commented that it felt like we had the parks to ourselves.  Once the following Saturday came all that changed and the Magic Kingdom got crowded.  Overall its a great time to go.

I think both you and your sister will have a great time.  If your sister hasn't signed up, she should do it soon.  The last time I checked registration for the full marathon was at 70% capacity and the half marathon is already closed.
