We usually focus on rides when we vacation. What other activities or must do shows should we add to our plans?

Hi Angela, and welcome to planDisney!

I must admit that I am a thrill seeker, so you'll usually find me exploring the Himalayas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park's Expedition Everest, entering the Grid on Magic Kingdom Park's TRON Lightcycle / Run, or searching for treasure on the classic Pirates of the Caribbean. But, oh boy! I'm also a lover of theatrics, and the shows at the Most Magical Place on Earth are nothing short of amazing.

First, check out the My Disney Experience app, click on the search icon, and type "Show Times." This will give you a good idea about the shows with specific times that are offered at the theme parks. You can also click on the map icon and search for either "Entertainment" or "Attractions" to see what other fun options there are to experience.

Here are some of my favorite stage shows at Walt Disney World Resort:

At Magic Kingdom Park, you may enjoy the very unique Country Bear Jamboree and Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. Both are very kitschy and unique, but you must do them at least once.

EPCOT is fun because you never know what fun musical performances you'll find. Local bands, the festivals' concerts, and so many other options provide fun moments for mini dance breaks. My personal favorite is Matsuriza at the Japan Pavilion. It's high on energy and culture!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is my go-to theme park for stage shows. Finding Nemo: The Big Blue...and Beyond! and Festival of the Lion King are my number one choices across all of the parks. They're both indoors (a great escape from the Florida heat) and the performances are out of this world.

I really enjoy the shows at Disney's Hollywood Studios as well. For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration is a hilarious stage show that brings the animated film Frozen to life. And the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! has been a must-do for me since I was a kid. It's a cool look at how Hollywood creates the stunts we see in the movies.

AN EXTRA GEM: Beyond stage shows, there are activities and shows around the parks and Resort hotels that will truly entertain you. My family loves Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. It's an interactive show with loads of laughs and a family-style meal, so if that's something you're up for, it's a must-do. Also, check out the scavenger hunts at EPCOT and at other spots on property.

Angela, if you have any other questions as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, revisit us here at planDisney. I'm all ears!

    Magic always,
