Hiya Ryan!
Welcome to planDisney! My family loved the
Disney Dining Plan and I learned how to use it to its full value. We ate a lot and ate well.
When purchasing a Disney Dining Plan it's important to know that each Guest in your party must have one purchased even if only one person wants it. The pricing is determined by the age of the Guest and unfortunately not by their needs or preferences. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but I think it might be for the best. With two members of your party having such different needs it would most likely make the Disney Dining Plan more of a burden than a convenience. You may find that you might save a lot more money just eating without the Disney Dining Plan. Sometimes, to prove to myself if the Disney Dining Plan is worth it I look at the
menus and pricing of the places I am interested in eating at and have my whole family make their choices. I then add it up and figure out if the expense makes sense.
I find that sometimes I only want the kids' menu items myself. One of my favorite Quick Service dining locations is
Columbia Harbour House. The
Fried Shrimp kids' menu item is perfectly sized for a lighter lunch. If I had an adult Dining Plan I would never even try to order it but purchase more than I would need for that moment. My tip if you eat here is to look for the huge dining room upstairs which always has seats and is so much quieter than downstairs. I love to find a seat near the windows and people-watch in peace while enjoying my New England Clam Chowder.
I hope this helps and that you find your way to delicious and satisfying meals for the whole family. Make sure to
let me know if you have any more questions.
Happy Planning!
